Eco-life workshops

Crafting together creates a pleasant atmosphere and quickly unites groups. We offer various workshops that are suitable for enriching the activities of both kids and grown ups. Whether it's a company event, summer day or Christmas party - Örreke comes with a workshop and we have all the necessary work tools and materials with us. For crafting, we will set up a pop-up workshop at your place or invite you to visit our studio in the Old Town of Tallinn. However, if you need a larger space, we'll know a room suitable for the size of your group, or a restaurant instead, to combine both creative activities and a delicious dinner. The classrooms are cheerful and simple, and each participant will receive a self-made item in a beautiful gift package right away from the classroom. We conduct workshops in Estonian, English, Russian and Finnish.

In the eco-life workshops, we use natural ingredients and plants grown in our own garden or in Estonian forests. In the classrooms, we pay attention to recycling and a packaging-free lifestyle. No preservatives or synthetic fragrances and dyes are added to the products. In the eco-life workshops, we make our own cosmetics, household cleaning products and honey fabric. Eco-life workshops are Örrekes' contribution to a cleaner living environment.

In home cosmetics workshops, we make our own soap, body creams, lip balm, body scrub, foot bath salt or deodorant. Most of the ingredients come from the kitchen cupboard at home. All products are also ready-to-use and have no added preservatives. Come to the classroom with your empty cream container! We are happy if we can contribute to reuse!

In the Örreke kitchen, we make candies and marzipan or chocolate truffles from raw chocolate. We will learn about different herbs for mixing tea blends and herbal seasonings. We mold thematic figurines from colored marzipan. In addition, we will introduce a piece of Arab tea and coffee drinking culture and decorating Easter eggs according to Ukrainian culture. From the kitchen of Örreke, you can enjoy exciting tastes, delicious smells and positive emotions for the next few days!

In the textile workshops, we learn about silk painting, felt soap, make rag dolls, embroider flute bags, learn water painting and make honey fabric.

Water art is believed to have originated in Japan around the 12th century, when ink was accidentally discovered to float on the surface of water. An image made of different colors could be drawn from the surface of the water onto paper. In Japan, this technique was called suminagashi - "floating ink". In Turkey, however, a similar style was called ebru technique. Flowing images were drawn in the ink floating on the surface of the water, which made the technique particularly exciting and the finished images unspeakably beautiful. When it arrived in Europe, the technique was called marbling, because the so-called water impressions resembled the marble surfaces that were abundantly used in construction at that time.

In the workshop we make jewelry, key chains, bracelets and lucky stones from pearls, leather, stone, fimo and "magic glass". We try and experiment with different materials and jewelry making techniques.

Crafting is simple and suitable for both short and long-term activities. In the workshops, we get to know different materials and work methods. You can do woodwork, mosaic or "enchant" glass. During Christmas, we remind you how to assemble a reed Christmas wreath.

In the candle making workshop we will make candles both by casting and decorating. We will also make candles rolled from beeswax or even jar candles without the need to use hot wax. And of course we'll talk about the history of candles and remind you about fire safety.
