Have you heard the saying that a knife is an extension of a chef's hand?
A knife is indeed one of the most important tools in the kitchen, but it is especially important that the knife is sharp. Working with a dull knife is inefficient, frustrating and also dangerous.
In the knife sharpening training, you will learn how to keep your cutting tools in top shape using simple and universal sharpening tools - a water slide and a sharpening stick. The training is primarily aimed at those who have no previous experience with water slide sharpening. We will cover topics related to knives and sharpening both theoretically and practically, sharing best practices, experiences and tips.
Training topics:
The training will be conducted by Margus Tapupere, founder of Tallinn Cutlery chef's knife shop. The duration of the comprehensive sharpening training is approximately 3 hours and the group size is up to 12 participants. The atmosphere is informal, questions of interest to participants are very welcome, which we will try to answer within the limits of our experience and knowledge.
PS: If you would like a knife sharpening workshop as part of a team event or event, we also offer a shorter format (approx. 40-45 minutes). During this time, each participant will gain basic knowledge of knife sharpening and maintenance, and will also practice sharpening on a water slide.
